Super nuclear submarine adds 'fangs' to Russian Navy
In the near future, the Russian Navy will be supplemented with the super submarine “Prince Vladimir”, which will allow them to further strengthen their influence in the world.
Russian Navy Commander Admiral Vladimir Korolev said in an interview that this November the country's Navy fleet will receive a new super submarine of project 955A "Borey" - this is a strategic missile submarine equipped with new Russian ballistic missiles.

“In the near future, a new strategic nuclear submarine named “Prince Vladimir” will be launched in Severodvinsk. This event will take place in November,” the commander said.
Previously, this submarine was scheduled to be launched in August 2017, but for some reasons it was postponed until now. The reason for the delay was not disclosed by Admiral Korolev.
“Prince Vladimir” became the first ship of the “Borey-A” project. Construction of the submarine began in July 2012 at the Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk on the White Sea.
Due to disagreements between the Russian Defense Ministry and the Sevmash shipyard, construction was frozen in the first stage for about two years. The submarine was scheduled to be handed over to the Russian Navy in 2018.
This new version has much stronger weapons than the previous versions. According to sources from reporters of The Diplomat:
“The new submarines of the “Borey-A” project will be equipped with four additional launch tubes. The hull of these submarines is small in size and they are equipped with very low noise machines and most of the systems on board the submarine use the most modern technology today.”
Like its predecessor, the new submarine of this project will be equipped with R-30 Bulava intercontinental ballistic missiles. However, the old version could only carry 16 of these missiles, but the new submarine will be equipped with 20 missiles.
This new submarine is capable of launching a series of 96-200 nuclear warheads traveling at ultra-high frequency and the destructive power of each warhead is about 100-150 kilotons.
Previously in July 2017, The Diplomat newspaper also announced that by 2025 the Russian fleet will receive 8 submarines of this type, 3 of which belong to the "Borey" project and the remaining 5 belong to the "Borey-A" project.
Recall that last week Russia conducted exercises involving its strategic nuclear triad: bombers, submarines and Strategic Missile Forces.
Russian media have revealed that Russian President Putin personally supervised and monitored the test launch of four intercontinental ballistic missiles.
This statement by the Russian Navy makes the already worried US even more worried. The fact that the Russian Navy is equipped with more modern submarines than the US submarines along with a strong and effective fleet of warships is threatening the US position.
Even in the next few years, the Russian Navy will be supplemented with more modern warships and missiles.
