Singapore will bear part of the cost of the Trump-Kim summit
The Singapore government is willing to pay some of the costs involved to ensure the success of the historic summit between the United States and North Korea.

Singapore's Defense Minister Ng Eng Hen said today that the country is willing to cover some of the costs of the summit scheduled for June 12 between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to the Singapore News Agency.Reuters.

Washington cannot pay either, as it would violate economic sanctions against Pyongyang. So the US is considering asking the Singaporean host to pay for Kim Jong-un's hotel room.
The North Korean delegation was led by Kim Chang-son, who serves as chief of staff to the North Korean leader., is in Singapore topreparing logistics for the summit. North Korea may choose the 5-star Fullerton Hotel, with room rates of up to more than $6,000 per night, as Kim Jong-un's accommodation.
There is no official information yet about the location of the meeting between the US President and the North Korean leader. Experts predict that the Shangri-La and Capella hotels are potential options.
The US President yesterday confirmed that he will hold a summit with the North Korean leader on June 12 in Singapore as originally planned. The statement was made by Trump after an unprecedented meeting lasting nearly 90 minutes at the White House with Vice Chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Yong-chol, who is considered Kim Jong-un's right-hand man.
