Daily Mail reported that the state of Illinois has just officially chosen August 4 (former President Barack Obama's birthday) as "Barack Obama Day" across the state.

The holiday is an opportunity for the entire state to honor the 44th president of the United States, who began his career by serving the people of Illinois in both the Illinois Senate and the US Senate, Daily Mail quoted the bill.
The bill was passed by the Illinois Senate with 55 votes in favor and 1 abstention before being signed by Governor Bruce Rauner on August 4. Accordingly, the first "Barack Obama Day" in Illinois will begin in 2018.
Like other observances including Adlai Stevenson Day and Ronald Reagan Day, public offices will not be closed on Barack Obama Day.
According to NBC Chicago, the bill was introduced by Senator Emil Jones III.
