A student from Nghe An province won the title of First Runner-up in the 'Elegant Student' contest.

The event that attracted young people ended a few days ago, but Tung Son is still emotional about becoming the first runner-up.Student Elegance Contest 2024(Organized by the Youth Union of the Central Government Agencies Bloc in coordination with the Vietnam Women's Academy).

The final round of the competition featured 22 outstanding contestants selected from over 200 applications from more than 40 universities and colleges nationwide. The final round delivered a truly impressive evening. The contestants were exemplary representatives of the beauty, intelligence, and talent of university students.

At the Grand Finale, the contestants went through many exciting rounds of competition, such as group performances, greetings, sportswear presentations, traditional Vietnamese dress (áo dài), evening gowns, and Q&A sessions.

In the final results, Tung Son won the title of First Runner-up, becoming one of the three male students who achieved the highest ranking in the competition, alongside the Mr. Vietnam from Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the Second Runner-up from Da Nang University of Architecture. In addition to the First Runner-up title, Tung Son also won the "Best Sportswear Performance" award.

Sharing his joy after the competition, Tung Son said: “Becoming the first runner-up in the 2024 Elegant Student Contest, I feel happy and proud of my tireless efforts. This title is a recognition of my hard work on this challenging journey.”

Reportedly, Nguyen Tung Son (21 years old) is the eldest of two brothers in a family from Thanh Tu village, Thanh Linh commune, Thanh Chuong district. He is currently a fourth-year student in the Literature department at Hanoi Pedagogical University.

During his high school years, Tung Son achieved the title of "Excellent Student" at the provincial level, won third prize in the provincial excellent student competition in Literature, and received an honorable mention in the provincial excellent student competition in History in his 12th grade year. Not only was he academically gifted, but Tung Son was also enthusiastic in extracurricular activities and won third prize in the Thanh Chuong District Folk Song Festival.

As a top student at the provincial level, Tung Son was admitted directly to the Department of Literature, Hanoi Pedagogical University.

When Tung Son participated in the final round of the Elegant Student Contest, his father, paternal grandmother, and maternal grandmother traveled from his hometown of Thanh Chuong to Hanoi to encourage him.

Sharing his feelings about his son achieving a high title in the competition, Mr. Nguyen Van Duong – Tung Son's father, said: “I feel excited and proud that my son achieved the first runner-up position in the national "Elegant Student" competition. It was truly moving to witness him shine in the various performances on stage.”

Tung Son is passionate about literature and always wants to ignite a love of literature in young people. As soon as he entered university, he opened his own literature class called "Team Son's Literature Class," which he teaches both online and in person. Over time, many students who participated in this class have achieved top scores and second-highest scores in the humanities subjects of the high school graduation exams.

Besides teaching, Tung Son also experimented and tried his hand at other fields such as MC and modeling. He was among the top 20 in the Vietnam International MC Contest and the winner of The Star Glory Model Vietnam competition.

As an active and enthusiastic student, Tung Son also eagerly participates in volunteer activities for the community, such as teaching soft skills to orphaned children at Birla Children's Village (Hanoi), and carrying out a community project for children with special needs and disabilities (a personal activity) called "Love"...

Sharing on his personal page, Tung Son wrote: After winning the title of First Runner-up in the 2024 Elegant Student Contest, I hope to inspire many young people out there with the message: "Dare to believe in your dreams."

Throughout his journey in the competition, Tung Son received a great deal of support from many people. This included encouraging messages from his lecturers at Hanoi Pedagogical University, members of the Youth Union and Student Association of Hanoi Pedagogical University, the Faculty of Literature's Youth Union and Student Association, and even encouragement from friends, family, and relatives from his hometown of Thanh Chuong.

Nguyen Canh Chan High School also posted a message of support for him, which deeply moved him.

“My journey to shine in the competition would not have been possible without the enthusiastic support from the audience. All that love and encouragement motivated me to strive and shine on the stage of the National 'Elegant Student' Finals and bring home the title of First Runner-up,” Tùng Sơn confided.

Speaking about his future plans, Tung Son said: "I will strive to fulfill my role as the new First Runner-up to the best of my ability. With this title, I hope it will be a great opportunity to spread positive values ​​to society, to motivate everyone in general and young people in particular to have more mental strength to be confident, break through, dare to pursue their passions. Besides that, I will also work together with the Organizing Committee to carry out community projects and continue the work I set out for myself last year."
