Students would rather suffer as long as they can 'hold' an iPhone?
Many students eat frugally but still try to save money to buy expensive phones, spending all day "hugging" their phones to play games, surf Facebook, Zalo...
That was the warning of Dr. Le Duc Hoang - Department of Political Theory, Central Propaganda Department - at the workshop and training on education of revolutionary ideals, ethics, and lifestyle for students, recently organized by the Ministry of Education and Training.

According to Mr. Hoang, the "phone addiction" syndrome is quite common, many students spend too much time on Facebook, Zalo, video games... on their phones and neglect their studies.
"Many students have a very difficult life, eat poorly but still try to save money to buy expensive iPhones. Many students have distorted values, only chasing after superficial appearances" - Mr. Hoang cited.
It is worrying that "the loose lifestyle of a segment of young people, pupils and students not only causes concern about the degradation of social morality, but also poses a danger to the health and development of the race".
At the conference, many delegates were particularly concerned about the impact of the Internet and social networks on the spiritual lives of students. Experts also presented a number of studies and guidance on methods to help students exploit social networks and the Internet in a healthy way.
Professor Nguyen Quy Thanh - Principal of the University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi - pointed out the dangers and risks that users may encounter when using social networks and the Internet (distorted, fabricated content, causing fear, encouraging self-harm...).
Therefore, students need to build a positive online environment, be careful about what they share online, and not encourage or incite bad behavior.
However, Mr. Bui Van Linh - Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Political Education for Students, Ministry of Education and Training - said that it is necessary to effectively exploit the positive aspects of social networks in propaganda, education and student management.
According to the plan, to implement the Vietnam youth development strategy phase 2 (2016-2020), the Ministry of Education and Training will develop and submit to the Prime Minister for approval a project on cultural behavior in schools.
