In celebration of International Earth Day April 22, with the support of the School Youth Union, the School Student Association, the Fuzzy Crew dance group, the Vinh University Forum Management Board, Vinh University students organized the event: “Flash mob – Vinh University” - “Earth day - For a green planet”.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and responsibility of the whole society, especially the youth, students, and pupils about environmental protection. Through the Flash mob performance with impressive and vibrant dances of 300 students from Vinh University and cycling parade on the main roads of Vinh City, aiming to convey the message to everyone about protecting the living environment on the green planet.

“Earth Day” was first celebrated on April 22, 1970 in the United States with the participation of 20 million people, including students from 2,000 universities. It originated from an idea in a speech by Senator Gaylor Nelson in September 1969.
