Skoda Vision O reveals the look of the future electric Octavia
Skoda introduces the Vision O concept, an electric car with minimalist design, AI technology and 800V platform, expected to launch in 2027-2028.
New step in design language
At the IAA exhibition, Skoda attracted attention when announcing Vision O, a concept estate model considered the electric Octavia of the future.

Unlike Epiq or Elroq, which remain loyal to the current Modern Solid style, Vision O is seen as a big step forward, shaping a new phase of this design philosophy.
Vision O has simple, strong and highly aerodynamic lines. The front of the car replaces the familiar Tech Deck detail with a new Tech Loop design.

Hidden door handles, aerodynamic wheels and an air-flow deflector help optimise performance. T-shaped taillights also add to the identity, while the luggage compartment can be expanded to 1,700 litres with the rear seats folded.

Minimalist interior
Skoda designed Vision O from the inside out with a customer-centric philosophy. The cabin space is completely new compared to MEB platform models. The interior is minimalist, prioritizing spaciousness and convenience, with an initial cargo capacity of more than 650 liters.

One of the highlights is the Horizon Display for both driver and passenger, integrated with the upgraded AI virtual assistant Laura. The Bio-Adaptive Lighting interior lighting system automatically adjusts to the natural light cycle to create a pleasant feeling. In addition, familiar Simply Clever details such as portable speakers or integrated cooler boxes are still retained.

Size and operating efficiency
Vision O is 4.85 m long, 1.90 m wide and 1.50 m high. The wheelbase is optimized to ensure spacious interior and luggage compartment.

Aerodynamic design plays a key role, with active front shutters and air channels along the body, improving both performance and energy consumption.
AI technology and development orientation
The concept focuses more on design, user experience and autonomous driving assistance technology, rather than revealing engine details.

Skoda says the Vision O will be based on the Volkswagen Group's next-generation SSP platform, with an advanced 800V electrical architecture. Choosing SSP over MEB+ is a long-term move, even if it carries the risk of delays.

The commercial launch is scheduled for 2027–2028, two years later than originally planned, and will mark the introduction of the electric Octavia to the market, replacing older models.
Skoda CEO Klaus Zellmer shared that Vision O is a product that combines innovative design, luggage compartment capacity of more than 650 liters, autonomous driving assistance functions and intuitive AI assistant.
He affirmed that the car model not only enhances the passenger experience but is also associated with sustainable development goals, while opening a new chapter in the brand's Modern Solid design philosophy.
