SLNA: Storm ahead
(Baonghean.vn) - In the next 3 rounds of V.League 2020, coach Ngo Quang Truong and his team will have to face very strong and difficult opponents.
SLNA's first obstacle is Hanoi FC, the reigning champion and also the strongest candidate for the V.League and National Cup this season. Not only is the quality of the squad inferior, SLNA also has to play at Hang Day Stadium, where the Nghe An team has only known defeat and defeat in the past 5 seasons (2015 - 2019). The 0-4 loss to the capital team in round 5 of V.League 2019 is also SLNA's heaviest defeat in the V.League arena.
Right after the away match against Hanoi FC, Phan Van Duc and his teammates will return to Vinh Stadium to welcome another championship candidate, Ho Chi Minh City FC. Despite having just suffered a defeat in the Saigon derby (losing to Saigon with a score of 0-1), Coach Chung Hae-seong's team is still rated higher than SLNA, despite Coach Ngo Quang Truong and his team playing at Vinh Stadium. In V.League 2019, SLNA lost to Ho Chi Minh City FC with the same score of 1-2.

It can be said that the series of matches against Hanoi FC, Ho Chi Minh City FC and Nam Ha Nam Dinh Pharmaceuticals is a "tourmalet" of the Nghe An team in the first phase of V.League 2020. Besides having to face tough opponents, SLNA is also seriously depleted in the squad, with injuries to Hoang Van Khanh, Cao Xuan Thang and Pham Xuan Manh. In addition, 2 out of 3 foreign players, Peter Onyekachi and Alagie Sosseh, have not yet proven much in recent matches.
