Head coach Nguyen Duc Thang shared with Nghe An Newspaper: "I never agree with dirty actions or tricks on the field. Before the tournament, the Organizing Committee and I, as a coach, have learned lessons to remind the players. I only support the issue of playing positively, respecting the other team and never defend mistakes such as dirty actions or reacting to the referee. Through this incident, I also held a team meeting to learn from all the players. The Organizing Committee has given such a penalty, first of all, I respect the disciplinary decision for player Pham The Nhat.
On the team's side, the club's leadership also had a separate disciplinary measure for The Nhat, which was to pay the entire fine to the disciplinary board and have one month's salary cut.
Since the beginning of the tournament, I have always warned and always promoted the spirit of playing football. Personally, I have built a spirit of playing football that is passionate, fierce but must follow the rules. Through this lesson, every player must also be self-aware. And I think that the player's courage is the most important thing. Sometimes, in the impulsive moments of an individual, it affects the whole team and that player himself. I require my students to be more courageous, more alert and require more patience."
