(Baonghean.vn) - Playing at Thong Nhat Stadium, SLNA was without midfielder Phan Van Duc and this made the Nghe An team have a difficult match against the home team Saigon in round 12 of V.League 2018.

In this match, coach Duc Thang made a few changes in the starting lineup. Vo Ngoc Duc entered the field from the beginning to replace Manh Hung on the left wing, while Xuan Toan and Xuan Manh were the two wingers of SLNA supporting Olaha and Tuan Tai.

Although playing away, SLNA entered the game quite confidently, however, the away team did not create many clear opportunities towards Tong Duc An's goal.

Both teams played cautiously and the most significant chance of the match came in the 23rd minute, foreign player Dugary jumped high and headed the ball right into the position of goalkeeper Phan Dinh Vu Hai. Just one minute later, SLNA had an answer. Defender Ngoc Duc, in a situation of joining the attack, fired a very strong shot in the penalty area, unfortunately the Saigon defender was able to clear the danger right in front of the goalkeeper.

In the 28th minute, it was SLNA's turn to be put on alert. Goalkeeper Phan Dinh Vu Hai made a miraculous reflex, denying a goal from striker Le Hoang Thien.

In the 36th minute, SLNA's goalkeeper continued to frustrate Saigon's strikers. This time, it was Tran Vu's turn to fail to score even though his shot was very close to the away team's goal.

The next dangerous opportunity that Saigon created came in the 43rd minute. On the left wing, the ball hit the foot of center back Van Khanh and changed direction, flying straight towards SLNA's goal. Goalkeeper Vu Hai once again jumped to block the ball, causing it to hit the post and fly out.

The first half of the match ended with the home team dominating in terms of opportunities created and ball possession.

In the second half, SLNA surprisingly took control of the game. Coach Duc Thang's players held the ball firmly and calmly launched attacks. In the 59th minute, Cao Van Trien fouled Pham Xuan Manh right in front of the 16m50 line. From the free kick spot with a very favorable angle, Que Ngoc Hai kicked the ball and it hit the crossbar, hit the Saigon goalkeeper and flew out, to the regret of Nghe An fans.

Just a few minutes later, Saigon had the answer. Da Sylva, in an effort to penetrate the penalty area, shot past Vu Hai, but luckily for SLNA, Vo Ngoc Duc was still in front of the goal, covering and making a visible save.

In the 65th minute, SLNA's coaching staff decided to increase the attacking pressure. Ho Tuan Tai left the field to make way for foreign player Osmar Francisco. And from here, SLNA's efforts were rewarded. In the 69th minute, from a corner kick, Que Ngoc Hai jumped high and powerfully headed the ball to open the score. The SLNA captain accepted the yellow card, took off his shirt and celebrated happily. A goal gave him and his teammates good psychological momentum for the rest of the match.

Taking the lead in the air, SLNA conceded a goal from a corner kick from Saigon. In the 76th minute, Da Sylva jumped high, eliminated Van Khanh and a series of SLNA defenders, headed the ball into Vu Hai's net to equalize the score 1-1.

Immediately after this situation, SLNA had an answer. Unfortunately, Xuan Manh's shot found the junction between the crossbar and the goalpost. Luck once again turned its back on the Nghe An team. Since Ngoc Duy from Saigon was sent onto the field, the home team gradually regained control of the game and they made it happen in the 82nd minute. The nightmare named Da Sylva once again had a burst of speed, eliminating the SLNA central defenders before unleashing a powerful shot to the far corner, defeating Vu Hai, raising the score to 2-1.

With only 5 minutes left in the match, SLNA had nothing to lose and sent striker Phuc Tinh onto the field to replace defender Vo Ngoc Duc. Although the match had 7 minutes of extra time, it was not enough for the Nghe team to salvage 1 point in the context of the home team Saigon trying every way to prolong the time and the final game was broken up by fouls.

Continuing to lose the 6th match in V.League, SLNA was replaced by Saigon and dropped to the second-to-last position on the rankings with 8 points after 12 rounds, only 2 points more than the bottom team Nam Dinh. In the next match, SLNA returns home to welcome Hai Phong in round 13 taking place on June 13./.
