Nghe An Department of Education and Training speaks out about teacher's broken nose
(Baonghean.vn) - Immediately upon receiving information that a teacher in Yen Thanh district was beaten by a student's brother at school, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training verified and sent an initial report to the Ministry of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

(Baonghean.vn) - The teacher slapped Phong as a warning for burning paper during class and asked to invite his parents to the meeting. Phong's brother went to see the teacher and suddenly punched him in the face and nose, causing him to collapse on the spot.
The Department of Teachers and Educational Managers also requested the Nghe An Department of Education and Training to learn from the above incident and pay attention to the whole sector about school behavior culture; build a healthy and friendly pedagogical environment; and at the same time improve pedagogical skills for teachers, not allowing unfortunate incidents to continue to happen.

On March 15, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training sent an initial report to the Ministry of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Nghe An province about the above incident.
The report stated that at around 9:00 a.m. on March 13, in class 9D of Tan Thanh Secondary School (Yen Thanh), a student burned paper in the classroom. The literature teacher of the class reported it to the homeroom teacher of class 9D, Mr. Dang Minh Thuy. After Mr. Thuy asked who burned the paper, Nguyen Van Phong stood up and admitted that he was the one who burned it. At that time, because he was so upset, Mr. Thuy slapped Phong as a warning. Mr. Thuy asked Phong to write a report and self-criticism, and also wrote a letter inviting Phong's parents to come to school the next day to meet him to discuss the matter.
At around 10am on March 14, during class, Nguyen Van Doan (Phong's brother) and Hoang Van De (Doan's friend) came to the school to meet Mr. Thuy. Mr. Thuy invited the two men into Doan's room to work. A short while later, an argument and scuffle broke out between Mr. Thuy and the two young men. One of the two punched Mr. Thuy in the face, the other used a teacher's chair to hit Mr. Thuy. Hearing the loud noise, the teachers ran in to stop them, then the two young men stopped and got on their motorbike and left the school.
Mr. Thuy was taken to Phu Dien General Hospital by his relatives and colleagues for emergency treatment in a state of continuous nosebleeds. Mr. Thuy is currently continuing to receive treatment and monitoring at the hospital.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of Nghe An Department of Education and Training said that immediately after receiving the information and report from Yen Thanh District Department of Education and Training, Nghe An Department of Education and Training directed Yen Thanh District Department of Education and Training to continue to grasp the situation, direct Tan Thanh Secondary School to soon return all teaching and learning activities to normal; do a good job of ideological work for the staff, teachers, parents and students of the school, especially Nguyen Van Phong so that he can go to school normally. Encourage the students to study with peace of mind to prepare well for the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam.
The Department also requested the Yen Thanh Department of Education and Training to coordinate with local authorities to visit and encourage Mr. Thuy; coordinate with the Yen Thanh District People's Committee and relevant agencies to verify and clarify the incident, and handle violations in accordance with legal regulations.
Through the above incident, the Department also requested educational institutions in Yen Thanh in particular and the whole province in general to strictly implement the code of conduct for teachers; strengthen training in pedagogical skills, skills in handling situations, especially handling pedagogical situations in the whole sector.
Regarding the above incident, on the morning of March 16, Mr. Phan Van Quang - Principal of Tan Thanh Secondary School said that teacher Dang Minh Thuy is a physical education teacher, who has worked at Tan Thanh Secondary School since 2002.
According to the X-ray results, Mr. Thuy was beaten, causing a broken nose and heavy bleeding in the right nostril.
