(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 8, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training held an online conference with connecting points in 21 districts, cities, towns and high schools to discuss solutions to ensure safety for teaching and learning activities after the Lunar New Year of Nham Dan.

The number of F0 students increased rapidly after Tet

Previously, according to a synthesis ofDepartment of Education and TrainingAs of the afternoon of February 8, the whole province had 266 F0 students at 4 levels of education, including 37 preschool students, 88 primary school students, 52 secondary school students and 89 high school students.

In addition, there are 71 teachers and staff who are F0 cases. The number of teachers and students who are F1 cases is nearly 4,000, including 3,345 students and 786 teachers. This number may increase in the coming time, because many localities are still reviewing and making statistics.

At this time, the whole province has 8 localities with 100% of general schools organizing in-person teaching and learning, including Tuong Duong, Thai Hoa town, Tan Ky, Vinh city, Ky Son, Quy Chau, Con Cuong and Que Phong. In addition, there are 10 localities with schools that teach both in-person and online. The whole province has 3 localities organizing online teaching and learning, including Thanh Chuong, Nghia Dan and Cua Lo town.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh said: Compared to the time before Tet, the number ofpupilin infected schoolsCovid – 19increase

In that context, organizing direct teaching while ensuring safety in schools is a top priority. The current difficulty in Nghe An is that the number of students in a school is very large, many schools have over 1,000 students. Therefore, if parents are still subjective, ensuring safety in schools will be very difficult. Meanwhile, if students are not allowed to go to school, prolonging online learning will affect students' psychology and knowledge acquisition.

From this reality, at the meeting, localities also expressed their opinions on the organization of teaching and learning.Vinh city, Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong Thao said, compared to yesterday, by this morning the number of F0 students in the city has increased rapidly with 158 students, including more than 100 elementary school students. This is because after Tet, some schools and units required testing, so the number of patients increased rapidly and this number will continue to increase in the next few days.

Given the above situation, the organization of teaching and learning in Vinh city is under a lot of pressure. However, the city is currently still organizing direct teaching. Classes with F0 students are switched to online teaching to both implement the program and ensure safety.

In the current context, the city also requested the Department of Education and Training to have a unified direction in organizing teaching and learning to facilitate the city in the implementation process. At the same time, it also hopes that the Department will have a direction for the city when preparing to welcome 5-year-old preschool students back to school when the city is planning to requisition 5 preschools to serve as admission hospitals.

Due to the increasing number of F0 patients, Cua Lo town is simultaneously implementing many solutions to prevent and control the epidemic. In particular, the Education sector is currently organizing online learning for students because Cua Lo town is small and the risk of infection in the community is still high.

It is expected that from February 7 to 12, Cua Lo town will screen all residents and students in the area to screen for F0. During this time, the town will temporarily organize online teaching and will only organize teaching again when F0 in the area has been controlled. Mr. Phung Duc Nhan - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Cua Lo town also said: We hope that after screening, the number of F0 in the area will decrease and Cua Lo students will go to school directly from the beginning of next week. The town's viewpoint is also to organize direct teaching to ensure the rights of students.

Nghia Dan district is also organizing online teaching to stabilize the situation after many F0 cases appeared in the area. It is expected that from tomorrow, classes and schools without students will be organized so that students can return to normal in-person learning.

Thanh Chuong district has more than 10,000 citizens returning to their hometowns for Tet. Therefore, in recent days, the number of F0 cases in the area has increased rapidly, with over 200 cases per day and outbreaks have appeared rapidly in the community. Based on this reality, Thanh Chuong district is allowing preschool students to stay home from school until February 11 and the remaining levels of education are switching to online teaching until further notice.

According to Mr. Tran Xuan Ha - Head of Thanh Chuong Education and Training Department, through screening, the whole district has 69 students and more than 10 teachers in the F0 category. Previously, Thanh Chuong had taken advantage of the golden time to teach directly, so the district was not under pressure on the program, many primary schools taught until week 25 and secondary and high schools taught until weeks 21 and 22. Therefore, the district's policy is to organize online teaching until the epidemic is basically controlled and safety is ensured.

In any circumstances, give priority to direct teaching.

Concluding the meeting, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh said: The Covid-19 epidemic is developing complicatedly and this will have a long-term impact on the education sector. Therefore, in the current period, the education sector shares the pressure of the education and training departments and schools when organizing students to return to school in person.

To do a good job of organizing teaching and learning, the Director of the Department of Education and Training requested that schools do a good job of propaganda to reassure parents and students and create consensus in the whole society. In addition, schools must regularly propagate in many different forms to promptly inform about the directives of the Ministry, the province and the industry on epidemic prevention.

Regarding the organization of teaching and learning, the Department's viewpoint is to still prioritize direct teaching and learning to stabilize teaching and learning in schools and not affect students' learning. However, depending on the development of the epidemic and the characteristics of each locality, the direction can be flexible "where the epidemic is, it will be isolated there, organizing both direct teaching and online teaching".

Schools must not be subjective in organizing teaching and learning, implementing local distancing for classes and schools with a large number of F0 students.

Currently, according to the industry's synthesis, the vaccination rate for students in the whole province has reached over 90%, of which high school level alone is over 97% and has achieved community immunity. Therefore, in the coming time, the head of the provincial education sector also said: Nghe An education sector is gradually moving towards no concept of online school to prioritize direct teaching. If the school has a class with F0 students, it will conduct local zoning and switch to online teaching.

For the remaining time of the school year, the Department's leaders also asked schools to pay attention to the quality of teaching. In particular, it is necessary to re-evaluate students' abilities to conduct tutoring and additional training for students.

In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the review work for final year students, especially grade 12 students, focusing on competency tests to suit the new trends and contexts. During the implementation process, it is necessary to listen to the opinions of parents and students to promptly report to the Department to promptly resolve difficulties and have timely support programs for students and schools.
