(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of August 29th, the Department of Internal Affairs inspected the administrative reform work at the Nghe An Provincial Tax Department. Attending the meeting were leaders from the Department of Internal Affairs, the Nghe An Provincial Tax Department, and relevant officials.

In implementing the Law on Tax Administration, the Nghe An Tax Department has established and successfully operated a "One-Stop Service Center" to handle tax administrative procedures at the Department's office and district/city/town tax offices. Specifically, the One-Stop Service Centers are fully equipped, publicly display the set of administrative procedures, send officials for training and professional development, and enhance the application of information technology in tax management, internal management, and online meetings throughout the sector. Since 2010, 100% of tax collection units have conducted tax collection through commercial banks, and 30% of businesses have filed tax returns online. The Nghe An Tax Department is one of the top 10 tax units nationwide in the country in implementing information technology applications.

However, administrative reform efforts still have limitations, such as: some procedures remain cumbersome and overlapping; there is still a situation where administrative procedures are processed beyond the prescribed time; and some officials and civil servants' working methods have not kept pace with the requirements of the reform process.

Concluding the meeting, Ms. Cao Thi Hien, Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, acknowledged the effectiveness and consistency of the department's administrative reform efforts across key areas; and the drafting of relevant documents closely aligned with real-life situations. In addition, she emphasized the need for the Tax Department to focus on reviewing and accelerating procedural reforms, improving professional skills, soft skills, public service ethics, and workplace culture for its officials and employees.
