Fate of Russian flag on roof of Consulate General in Seattle after expulsion
Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov stated that there is a principled diplomatic solution to not remove the Russian flag from the Consulate General's residence in Seattle, and he hopes that the American side will show understanding in this matter, to keep the flag in place.

"The principle decision is that the flag will not be taken down from the headquarters. We leave this issue (preserving the flag) to the decency of our American colleagues," Anatoly Antonov told reporters.
Earlier, the US government announced the expulsion of 60 Russian diplomats on charges of "espionage" and the closure of the Russian Consulate General in Seattle. Russian staff must leave Seattle by April 24.
The Russian Consulate General in Seattle has ceased renting offices, but the Consulate General building is privately owned by Russia.
