Comparing Samsung Galaxy Fold7 and Galaxy Fold6: Thinner, bigger screen but also higher price
Samsung Galaxy Fold7 launched with a slim and light design, larger screen and 200MP camera, but the price makes many people consider.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold was once considered the symbol that opened the era of foldable phones. The first generation created a global fever, maintaining its leading position in the segment for a long time. But Chinese competitors are increasingly breaking through, forcing Samsung to make strong improvements to maintain its position.

Samsung Galaxy Fold7 is the answer to competitive pressure, with a clear change in appearance and user experience.

Lighter design and more convenient display
The first highlight of the Samsung Galaxy Fold7 is its remarkably thin body. When folded, the device measures 158.4×72.8×8.9 mm and weighs 215 grams, much lighter than the Fold6. This change makes it easy to compete with straight flagship models like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

When opened, the main screen of the Galaxy Fold7 reaches 8 inches with a resolution of 2184×1968, up from 7.6 inches of the previous generation. The outer screen is also larger, from 6.3 inches to 6.5 inches, spacious and almost like a traditional smartphone, helping users comfortably handle daily tasks.
New improved details
Samsung has improved the Armor FlexHinge hinge, but the crease in the middle of the screen has not completely disappeared. Another notable point is the in-display camera.

If the Samsung Galaxy Fold6 used to cover the sensor with a pixel layer, the Galaxy Fold7 completely abandoned this method, making the "black dot" appear more clearly. In return, the camera quality is upgraded to 10MP with a wide angle, better supporting online meetings.
However, the Galaxy Fold7 lacks the S Pen, a long-awaited feature. This may be a trade-off for a thinner design, or because the actual demand is not high enough. However, for some Fold fans, this is definitely a minus.
Materials, durability and accessories
The Galaxy Fold7 body still combines glass and aluminum, but it's a stronger aluminum with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. Samsung also changed the design of the back cover, only protecting the back, so that users can stick a separate tempered glass on the front.
The rear camera cluster has been upgraded, with a 200MP main lens similar to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, for superior image quality. However, the camera protrudes significantly on the thin body, making the design unbalanced when placed on a flat surface.

Performance and memory
Samsung Galaxy Fold7 is equipped with a 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and Adreno 830 GPU. RAM is upgraded to a maximum of 16GB and storage capacity up to 1TB. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity are also present, taking the experience to a new level.
However, the device does not have a heat dissipation chamber like the Galaxy S25, raising questions about its ability to maintain performance during long-term use.

Battery and charging: unchanged but no breakthrough
The battery capacity remains at 4,400 mAh, unchanged from the Galaxy Fold6. Charging technology also remains the same: 25W fast wired charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse charging.
Meanwhile, the rival Honor Magic V5 has a battery capacity of over 5,800 mAh, making it difficult for the Galaxy Fold7 to make a difference in terms of usage time.
Initial price and reviews
Samsung Galaxy Fold7 launched with Android 16 and OneUI 8 operating system, comes with many new AI features, including Gemini AI Pro free for 6 months.
Despite the impressive upgrades, the high price makes the Samsung Galaxy Fold7 a luxury choice. This is no longer the oversized phone it was before, but a foldable flagship with top performance, a large screen, and a more convenient design.
