Department of Information and Communications: Implementing tasks for 2012
(Baonghean)This afternoon, January 9th, in Vinh City, the Nghe An Department of Information and Communications held a conference to summarize information and communication work in 2011 and to implement tasks for 2012.
Attending the event were, on behalf of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Trong Duong - Director of the Information Technology Department, and representatives from the Post and Telecommunications Department; on behalf of the province, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien presented Certificates of Commendation from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in 2011.
In 2011, in addition to advising the Provincial People's Committee on the issuance of four legal documents regulating the management and operation of the electronic meeting system of Nghe An province, the operation of the province's electronic information website and online social network services, and postal management, the Department of Information and Communications actively implemented the province's decisions, plans, and programs in the fields of postal services, telecommunications, information technology, journalism, and publishing. Emphasis was placed on strengthening inspection and supervision of state management of information and communications in the province. Eight inspections were conducted in various fields at 78 units during the year. Despite facing many difficulties due to high inflation, the revenue of businesses was estimated at VND 4,988.2 billion, exceeding the plan by 2.2%.
In 2012, the sector focused on key tasks: Continuing to implement planned projects and programs; Strengthening specialized state management tasks; Striving to achieve the following targets: revenue of 6,337 billion VND, subscriber density of 133 phones/100 people in the province, and total sector budget contribution of 150 billion VND.
On this occasion, the Ministry of Information and Communications awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives, and the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 3 collectives and 3 individuals for their outstanding achievements in performing their duties in 2011.
