(Baonghean.vn) - The Department of Information and Communications' request for the Provincial Police to investigate the case of "signs of impersonating journalists to harass in Quy Chau" is stated in Official Dispatch No. 1425/STTTT-TTBCXB dated October 16, 2020.
Official dispatch No. 1425/STTTT- TTBCXB of the Department of Information and Communications on“Processing information related to press activities in Quy Chau district”sent to the Provincial Police with the following specific content:
“On October 14, 2020, the People's Committee of Quy Chau district issued Official Dispatch No. 605/BCUBND reporting on the appearance of a group of people showing signs offakepress, press activities but could not present a press card or letter of introduction as prescribed. Among them was Ms. Nguyen Thi Van (pen name Ha Van) who brought a letter of introduction from the Ethnic and Times Magazine.

Regarding this incident,Department of Information and Communicationsreceived specific information as follows: Through monitoring Facebook social network, in early September 2020, information appeared that reporter Nguyen Thi Van (pen name Ha Van) of Ethnic and Time Magazine was working in the mountainous districts of Western Nghe An, causing negative public opinion.
The Department of Information and Communications has informed the Ethnic and Modern Magazine. On September 28, 2020, the Ethnic and Modern Magazine sent Official Dispatch No. 31/BCDTTD to the Department of Information and Communications stating that Ms. Nguyen Thi Van is not a reporter of the Magazine.

On October 10, 2020, the Department of Information and Communications issued Official Dispatch No. 1387/STTTT-TTBCXB to notify provincial departments, branches, organizations and People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to know information about Ms. Nguyen Thi Van, and at the same time requested units to report to the hotline of the Department of Information and Communications, phone number: 0915.665.848.

Because Ms. Nguyen Thi Van is not a journalist, it is beyond the authority of the Department of Information and Communications.
