(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 25th, a delegation led by Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hong, Deputy Director of the Department of Health, conducted an inspection of measles vaccination and catch-up measles vaccination in Quynh Luu district.

As of 4 PM on April 24th, Quynh Luu district had 15 cases of measles, including one death related to the disease. According to investigations, 2309 children needed to be vaccinated in this round, and 1317 have already been vaccinated. It is expected that the remaining children will be vaccinated by the end of April 25th.

On behalf of the inspection team, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hong – Deputy Director of the Department of Health – instructed the units to focus on screening children before vaccination; and to strengthen public awareness campaigns to help people understand the importance of vaccinating children, especially emphasizing the necessity of measles vaccination, how to detect measles, and how to care for measles patients. The Health Centers should proactively coordinate with district general hospitals to detect, monitor cases, and provide timely treatment to prevent community spread.
