Harvey Kenyon-Cairns and his parents were prevented from boarding a flight to Orlando, USA, because his grandfather, Paul Kenyon, mistakenly filled out a visa waiver form. In response to the question “have you ever attempted to engage in or participated in any acts of terrorism, espionage, sabotage, or genocide?”, Mr. Kenyon ticked yes instead of no, according to the Guardian.
"I can't believe they didn't realize it was a mistake. A three-month-old baby can't hurt anyone," he said.
The family took the baby from their home in Poynton, Cheshire, to the embassy in Grosvenor Square, London, to meet officials. The trip took about 10 hours and cost more than £3,700. They received new visas but missed their flight to Orlando.
"It was a very costly mistake, I wish the US embassy would have realized it was simply a mistake and we didn't have to go through all the paperwork," Mr. Kenyon said.
“If you were really a terrorist, you probably wouldn't have said yes to that question,” he added.
