Vibrant startup ecosystem in Nghe An

On the afternoon of February 21, Vinh University coordinated with the Department of Science and Technology, BizCare Training and Incubation Center to organize a seminar on building and developing the Startup and Innovation Ecosystem of Nghe An province. Attending the conference were Dr. Dam Quang Thang, Director of BizCare Training and Incubation Center, Chairman of the National Startup and Innovation Advisory Council; leaders of the Department of Science and Technology, Vinh University and related departments and branches.
At the seminar, Dr. Dam Quang Thang introduced the National Innovation and Startup Ecosystem. According to the assessment, the construction and development of Vietnam's ecosystem has been widely resonated and deployed throughout the country; the support network has been developing more and more dynamically and effectively, with more than 400 members, reaching more than 1,000 scientists. The infrastructure and human resources are increasingly consolidated; the capacity to connect and exploit international resources is increasingly improved.

More and more large enterprises and economic groups are participating in ecosystem activities, cooperating with young innovative startups, creating important resources for the ecosystem. In 2022, the global startup ecosystem recorded Vietnam ranked 54th, up 5 places compared to 2021.
The country has 79 incubators, 40 business promotion organizations, and about 170 colleges and universities operating creative startups, of which 43 universities have established incubators, centers, and long-term startup clubs. The Techfest model has spread and resonated across the country, with more than 10 regional and local Techfests held in 2022.

Nghe An is considered one of the localities with a vibrant startup ecosystem. In 2022, Nghe An province was honored to receive the title of "Typical locality in building a startup ecosystem in 2022" voted by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), and the Ministry of Education and Training.
After 5 years of implementation, the Program to support the development of the Innovative Startup Ecosystem of Nghe An has been completed and developed quite firmly, mobilizing a large number of available resources, connecting resources from the domestic private sector to participate.
The startup movement has developed in both breadth and depth with the support of all political and social organizations with many outstanding results: In 2022, a Startup won the First Prize of the Creative Startup Competition; many Startups have received investment commitments from domestic and foreign funds; Formed 1 Song Lam Incubator, 1 Nghe An Software and IT Services Association, connecting with domestic and foreign funds; Formed a team of Mentors ready to help Startups...

In general, innovative start-up activities have created a breakthrough in the local development strategy, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province.
Considered a bright spot in the field of innovative startups in Nghe An, in recent times, Vinh University has organized a series of activities to inspire innovative startups for students; Training and coaching activities on innovative startups for students have been focused and promoted.
In addition, there are many activities to form an ecosystem and connect the Thanh - Nghe - Tinh region, connect the regional ecosystem with the national ecosystem on the innovation and startup movement... Thereby, arousing passion and entrepreneurial spirit among young people, creating an environment to connect support resources, invest in building and developing an innovation and startup ecosystem for students of the school.
