Exciting spring meeting of the association of fellow countrymen of rice districts in Hanoi
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 11, the Yen Thanh District Association in Hanoi held a meeting to celebrate the beginning of Spring.
Attending the meeting were Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Ky - Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of the Voice of Vietnam; Comrade Nguyen The Trung - Former Member of the 11th Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of Yen Thanh district and many generations of Yen Thanh children in Hanoi.

After 35 years of establishment, up to now, Yen Thanh Association in Hanoi has about 5,000 people, besides there are 29 compatriot liaison committees at commune and town levels and liaison committees at agencies and units.
Over the past years, generations of Yen Thanh people living, working and studying in Hanoi have maintained all activities well, promoted the spirit of solidarity, helped each other in life; focused on the work of encouraging learning and talent.
From the scholarship fund, the association has promptly encouraged and rewarded excellent students, and supported poor students who strive to study well with an amount of over 100 million VND.
In addition, we must mention the great spiritual and material contributions of successful children to their homeland. Many people have supported tens of billions of VND to build welfare works, essential rural infrastructure and help poor households and families with preferential policies to have more conditions to improve their lives.

On this occasion, the Yen Thanh Association in Hanoi and district leaders presented certificates of gratitude to 33 outstanding individuals who have made many contributions to the development of their homeland; presented longevity gifts to over 40 elderly people and mothers aged 80 and older; and commended 4 students with high academic achievements.
