Exciting activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Border Guard's tradition
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 27, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Border Guard's Traditional Day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2019) and the 30th anniversary of "People's Border Guard Day" (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2019), many meaningful activities took place across the province.
The delegation of Vinh city led by comrade Phan Duc Dong - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee came to present flowers, congratulate and share joy with the officers and soldiers of Nghe An Border Guard. Comrade Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee and the delegates shared the difficulties and hardships of the border guards who are day and night guarding the peace of the Fatherland's border. At the same time, they were excited and proud of the growth and maturity of the Vietnam Border Guard in general and Nghe An Border Guard in particular over the past 60 years.

*Attending the ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Border Guard's Traditional Day and the 30th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day in Tuong Duong on February 27 were delegations from Vieng Thoong and Sam To districts - Bolikhamxay province, Laos; Colonel Vu Khuong - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command, representatives of Border Guard Stations and leaders, departments at district and commune levels.
Located in Tuong Duong district, the three Border Guard Stations of Tam Quang, Tam Hop and Nhon Mai are tasked with protecting over 60 km of the Vietnam - Laos border. Despite being stationed in remote, rugged areas lacking in all aspects, always facing all kinds of complicated hostile forces from the border. However, generations of Border Guard officers and soldiers have upheld the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant, and determined to win above all else, standing firm at the front line of the border and islands of the Fatherland.

This is an area with an important position in terms of national defense - security, economy and foreign affairs; has 4 border communes with 65 villages, 4,413 households, 20,365 people; including 5 ethnic groups living together: Thai, Mong, Kho Mu, Kinh, Tho.
