A lively festival celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 7th, to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Goat 2015, the Nghe An Provincial Library organized a festival to celebrate the Party and the Spring Festival with many interesting activities.

The Spring Festival celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year features a display of over 200 spring-themed newspapers and magazines from across the country; an exhibition of Vietnamese mascot paintings; a display of documents about the place names, history, and people of Nghe An province; calligraphy reading for readers at the beginning of the year; and fortune telling based on the I Ching. The festival has become an annual event, aiming to spread a reading culture and providing an opportunity for people to learn more about the history and value of historical sites and scenic spots in the province.
Besides traditional activities, this year's Party and Spring Festival celebration featured a new element: an exhibition of Vietnamese mascot paintings, attracting a large number of visitors. The exhibition displayed enlarged paintings of purely Vietnamese mascots, accompanied by explanations detailing the era, materials, techniques, prominent features, and spiritual significance of each mascot in different periods. Furthermore, a comparison between purely Vietnamese mascots and foreign mascots was clarified, helping people understand the cultural meaning of mascots in the spiritual life of the Vietnamese people. The exhibition also reflected current social issues, given the presence of many foreign mascots at historical and cultural sites, government offices, and other public buildings.
It is understood that the Nghe An Provincial Library will keep its spring newspaper reading room and other activities open until March 14, 2015.
