Early establishment of investment project to build flood control works in Bich Hao area (Thanh Chuong)

(Baonghean.vn) - Voters of Thanh Chuong district requested the province to pay attention to the policy of establishing an investment project to build flood control works for people in 6 communes of Bich Hao area (Thanh Ha, Thanh Tung, Thanh Giang, Thanh Mai, Thanh Xuan and Thanh Lam). Because people in this area can only produce one crop a year, life for many couples is difficult.

The relevant authorities responded to this issue as follows:

The project to upgrade the Bich Hao dike, Thanh Chuong district, is part of the Song Ca dike system, and was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Decision No. 3521/QD-BNN - DD dated December 9, 2009.

In 2010, the Provincial People's Committee approved the project to invest in the construction of the Bich Hao dike in Decision No. 4559/QD-UBND-NN dated October 5, 2010. However, due to the implementation of Resolution 11-NQ/CP and Directive 1792/CT-CP of the Government on curbing inflation and cutting public investment, there was no capital source to implement the project.

To continue implementing the project, on December 24, 2014, the Provincial People's Committee issued Official Letter No. 7929/UBND.NN on adjusting the investment project policy for the construction of the Bich Hao dike, Thanh Chuong district. In which, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development was assigned as the investor.

Currently, the project has been completed, but due to large capital sources and lack of funding, the project has not been implemented. It is recommended that the investor mobilize central capital and ODA programs for support./.
