14-year-old mountain girl rescued after nearly 1 year of being sold to China
(Baonghean.vn) - After nearly a year of being sold to China, a 14-year-old girl was fortunately rescued and reunited with her family.
At the end of September, Nghe An province authorities handed over Chuong Thi M. (14 years old) and Vi Thi Th. to their families.
At the end of July 2017, Mr. Vi Van Toan (born in 1977, residing in Don Phuc commune, Con Cuong district) and Lo Thi Bieu (born in 1981, residing in Binh Chuan commune, Con Cuong district) went to the Provincial Police Department of Investigation to report and ask for help from the police to rescue their relatives, Ms. Vi Thi Th. and her niece Chuong Thi M., who were sold abroad.
Immediately after receiving the information, the provincial police leaders directed the Criminal Police Department to quickly verify and clarify the case. In just a short time, with sharp professional measures, along with information from the family, the investigators verified and clarified the incident. The victim was tricked and sold by two subjects, Lang Thi Lien and Lang Thi Hai, both residing in Ke Me village, Mau Duc commune, Con Cuong district, who were acquaintances of the family.

Specifically, around January 2017, Lang Thi Lien and Lang Thi Hai came to Lo Thi Bieu's house and invited Chuong Thi M. (born in 2003), Bieu's daughter, to go to China to babysit Lang Thi Lien's child, and Lien would pay her. However, when they arrived in China, M. was sold to someone else by Lien.
After learning that their child had been tricked and sold, M.'s parents asked Ms. Vi Thi Th. to go to China to rescue her. While rescuing her, Ms. Th. was arrested and beaten, threatened with having her tendons cut and killed.
After a period of active coordination between the forces, Luong Thi Lien was arrested by the Chinese police, and the victims were rescued. On September 23, 2017, Chuong Thi M. and Vi Thi Th. were brought back to reunite with their families by the provincial police.
In the joyful and bittersweet atmosphere, Ms. Lo Thi Bieu, M's mother, choked up and said: When she was able to contact her family and told them that Lien had sold her to marry a Chinese man, I was very worried. Luckily, I was able to see her again today.

Returning home, Chuong Thi M. recounted: Because I was related to Hai and Lien, I agreed. However, after going to China, I did not have to carry Lien's child, but Lien sold me to a Chinese man to be his wife.
I heard that Sister Lien sold me for 70,000 Yuan. I didn't want to go, but Sister Lien threatened that if I didn't listen, she would kill me. I was so scared that I had to follow them.
