Nghe An Newspaper would like to publish an article by a dedicated fan about the circumstances of its birth and the meaning of the name SLNA and the SLNA Logo.
Since becoming professional, SLNA Football Club has launched a campaign to design the SLNA Football Club Logo and received more than 20 works from artists and art designers nationwide. On January 21, 2003, the Acceptance Council announced the selection of the work of Author Tran Tu Thanh - Vice Principal of the University of Industrial Fine Arts, member of the Hanoi Fine Arts Association and the Vietnam Fine Arts Association as the Logo of SLNA Football Club.
The logo has a simple but modern rectangular shape, the shapes and blocks in the rectangle are highly generalized, creating a strong impression. The green rectangle represents the grass field. The green color occupies the dominant position of the Logo background, evoking the color of life, of the homeland, of the gentle Lam River and is the green color of faith and hope.
The golden sphere represents the ball. The circle is placed in the center, like the earth in the middle of the vast universe. The yellow color is also the traditional color of SLNA Football Club, which has entered the hearts of many fans and admirers. It also shows that this is the cradle of training football talents.

The two white pieces, both symmetrical and opposite to each other above and below, resemble two sails billowing and blowing in the wind in the middle of the Lam River. The two white pieces hug tightly in a spherical shape (ball), creating a feeling (movement) as if the ball is spinning and breaking out violently. The two white pieces also resemble the Lam River, rolling and surging to victory.
The white piece below has a small to large shape, representing the constant development of football. The white piece above has a large to small shape, representing the club that always strives to achieve better results.
The white letters "Song Lam" and "Nghe An" in a special position represent the nature of a football team that plays passionately, fairly, and honestly in any situation for the sake of the homeland's flag and colors. The SLNA Football Club logo fully represents the heroic and indomitable nature of the Nghe people and the tradition of SLNA Football Club.

From 1979 to 1992, the team was called Song Lam Football Team. In 1992, Nghe Tinh was split into two provinces, Nghe An and Ha Tinh. The team was transferred to Nghe An province and renamed Song Lam Nghe An.
From 2004-2007, the Nghe An football team was called PJICO Song Lam Nghe An Club. In 2007, after the sponsor PJICO withdrew, a new sponsor, the Finance Company of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, took over the sponsorship of the team. From the 2007 season, the team played under the new name Song Lam Nghe An Petroleum Finance. This was also the only time the team changed its logo and brand identity.
Since 2009, after Bac A Bank became the managing unit, the team has always kept its traditional name and logo, proud to be a team that has never been relegated, while maintaining its identity and achieving many achievements.

Recently, information about the sponsor is about to be announced, many sources said that the SLNA football team will be renamed and the logo will be changed. However, according to the confirmation of Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh with Nghe An Newspaper, that is not the case. Up to this point (January 15), the General Director of SLNA Joint Stock Company still has not received official information about the sponsor or the name change of the football team.
