(Baonghean.vn) - The match between Song Lam Nghe An and XSKT Can Tho in round 15 of V.League 2018 took place in gloom partly because of the rankings of the two teams and the National Championship taking place on the same day as the 2018 World Cup.

The home field advantage helped SLNA play proactively in the first minutes despite only playing with 1 foreign player. The Nghe An team's strikers had 2 significant early chances to score but were unsuccessful.

In the 23rd minute, midfielder Cao Xuan Thang ran into the Can Tho penalty area to receive a cross from the left wing, but his header went straight to To Vinh Loi. In the 31st minute, Xuan Thang continued to threaten the XSKT Can Tho goal, his long-range shot from the left wing went wide of the post.

Despite playing aggressively, it was not until the 44th minute that SLNA's chances were realized by Xuan Toan. After Olaha's missed hook, the ball fell right to Xuan Toan's feet, the SLNA midfielder volleyed into the top corner, defeating goalkeeper To Vinh Loi. At the end of the first half, SLNA temporarily led Can Tho 1-0.

In the second half, SLNA continued to maintain a one-sided game while XSKT Can Tho sent Quang Tinh onto the field to improve the midfield. Olaha once put the ball into the opponent's net with a beautiful overhead kick in the 48th minute, but he was caught offside.

In the 57th minute, right after Tuan Tai's miss, Khac Ngoc took an exemplary free kick, unfortunately the ball hit the crossbar.

A few minutes later, Can Tho had consecutive answers. Wander Luiz was the one who caused trouble for SLNA's defense. The away team's striker continuously launched low kicks but they were not difficult enough to defeat goalkeeper Vu Hai.

In the 77th minute, Patiyo passed the ball to the second line for his teammate to gain momentum and shoot hard, but goalkeeper Vu Hai played focused and successfully blocked the shot.

Although XSKT Can Tho caused some difficulties for SLNA in the final minutes of the match, SLNA's defense still stood firm. Even in the 86th minute, if Olaha had been more precise in lifting the ball over goalkeeper Vinh Loi's head, SLNA would have scored a goal to raise the score to 2-0.

In the end, SLNA defeated XSKT Can Tho with a close score of 1-0. This result helped SLNA gain 17 points and temporarily take the 10th position from its opponent on the V.League 2018 rankings.
