Song Lam Nghe An has a new assistant head coach

Entering the 2024/25 season, Song Lam Nghe An decided to add 1 more assistant head coach. The person chosen for this position is coach Nguyen Quang Tho, from the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center. The decision was issued by Song Lam Nghe An club on August 15, 2024.

Previously, in May 2022, Mr. Tho officially joined the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center. In the same year, the coach, born in 1978, worked as an assistant coach for U11 Song Lam Nghe An and helped the team win the 2022 National Children's Championship.

In 2023, Mr. Tho was appointed as the head coach of U10 Song Lam Nghe An. After 1 year of training his students' tactics and techniques, at the 2024 National U11 Tournament, as captain, Mr. Tho and U11 Song Lam Nghe An won the highest position of the National Children's Tournament for the 8th time.

As a player, Nguyen Quang Tho was known as one of the mainstay central defenders in the first team of Song Lam Nghe An. After 10 years playing for Song Lam Nghe An (from 1996 to 2006), coach Nguyen Quang Tho and his teammates such as Huu Thang, Quang Truong, Van Sy Hung... won the V-League championship in 2000.

In the 2007 season, the central defender born in 1978 decided to join the Quang Ninh football team. In 2008, Mr. Tho officially retired from his career in the Hai An Saigon United shirt.

After retiring, coach Nguyen Quang Tho returned to work as a coach for the Hanoi T&T Youth Football Training Center located in Cua Lo.

In 2021, after Tan Long officially took over Song Lam Nghe An Club, coach Nguyen Quang Tho was recruited as a coach for Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center.

Thus, with the addition of coach Nguyen Quang Tho to the position of assistant head coach, the Vinh team's coaching staff currently includes: Head coach Pham Anh Tuan; assistant head coaches: Phan Nhu Thuat, Pham Van Quyen, Pham Duc Anh and Nguyen Quang Tho.
