The theme of President Ho Chi Minh is a sacred and inexhaustible source of inspiration, sparking creativity in generations of artists, including musicians. Throughout history, many songs by composers have expressed the noble qualities, ethics, and immense contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the nation's history.
"The Lam River, the Love of Uncle Ho" by composer Van The is a collection of songs inspired by the image of President Ho Chi Minh. The collection includes 18 compositions, divided into two parts: "Songs about Him" and "Some folk songs written about Him".
With its melodious and heartfelt lyrics, brimming with joy and excitement, "The Lam River, Uncle Ho's Love" recreates the journey of Nguyen Ai Quoc's departure to find a way to save the country. In this collection of songs, we also encounter the image of the beloved leader with his simple, everyday life ("Morning in Uncle Ho's Garden"), always loving, caring, and concerned for the people ("The Sacred New Year's Eve"). The image of Ho Chi Minh, with his lifestyle, morality, and noble soul, has become a source of strength for us to overcome all challenges and steadfastly move forward on the path he chose.
But it doesn't stop there; "The Lam River, the love of Uncle Ho" also expresses the boundless respect, love, admiration, and gratitude of the entire nation towards Uncle Ho. To commemorate his contributions, today we are together erecting a "Monument to Uncle Ho on Co To Island," making a "Pilgrimage to Uncle Ho's birthplace," "Returning to Kim Lien and Nam Dan," and planting trees in accordance with Uncle Ho's teachings...
"The Lam River, the Love of Uncle Ho" consists of only 18 songs (including 2 songs set to poetry) composed by musician Van The in various styles: Southern Vietnamese, Ca Tru, Hat Xam, Hat Vi... This is also one of the unique features that contributed to the success of this musical work.
This collection of selected songs by composer Văn Thế is a book commissioned by the People's Committee of Nghệ An Province and published by Nghệ An Publishing House last year. It is hoped that this anthology will contribute to the portrayal of President Ho Chi Minh in the music of our homeland!
