Sri Lanka issues 500,000 Ho Chi Minh stamps.

The Ho Chi Minh stamp set (consisting of 7 stamps) was designed by Sri Lankan artist Kumudu Tharaka, using a distinctive artistic language with vibrant, bright colors.

This stamp set was recently issued in Sri Lanka to commemorate the 124th anniversary of the birth of the great leader of the Vietnamese nation (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2014), a national liberation hero and world cultural figure. It also marks a positive event in the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Sri Lanka, a relationship founded by President Ho Chi Minh.

According to the Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Ton Sinh Thanh, President Ho Chi Minh visited Sri Lanka several times during his revolutionary career. The Ambassador believes that the issuance of the Ho Chi Minh stamp set will not only promote bilateral cooperation in the cultural and postal fields, but also create conditions to promote multilateral relations between the people and businesses of the two countries in the future.
