St.Etienne 1-1 PSG: Sinner Cavani
Going into the away match against St.Etienne, PSG is determined to win in hopes of winning Ligue 1 6 rounds early.
St.Etienne:Cabella (17')
PSG:Debuchy (90'+2, own goal)
With an outstanding squad and high determination, the nouveau riche of Paris put pressure on their opponents right after the opening whistle. However, when the goal was still nowhere to be seen, PSG received a cold shower from the home team.
In the 17th minute, Remy Cabella quickly seized the opportunity to open the score for St.Etienne from close range. By the 31st minute, the gap should have been doubled, but Cabella could not beat goalkeeper Alphonse Areola on the 11-meter mark.
Things became even more difficult for PSG, when defender Presnel Kimpembe was sent off in the 41st minute. Playing with one less player, coach Unai Emery and his team had to brace themselves against dangerous attacks from St.Etienne, and if it weren't for Areola's brilliance, plus a crossbar save, the capital team would have conceded another goal.

Cavani shot wide with an empty goal in front of him. |
In the 76th minute, PSG had a golden opportunity to equalize from a lightning-fast counterattack. Angel Di Maria passed the ball to Edinson Cavani to shoot into an empty net, but the Uruguayan striker kicked the ball wide. A missed shot that will surely go down in the history of world football.
It was thought that PSG would leave Stade Geoffroy-Guichard empty-handed, but in the second minute of injury time, former Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy clumsily scored an own goal, causing St.Etienne to lose the victory.
Thus, with this 1-1 draw, PSG will only be crowned Ligue 1 2017/18 champion if second-placed Monaco loses to Nantes in tonight's match. Currently, PSG is leading with 84 points, 17 points more than Monaco.
