Russian Su-30 had to intercept French fighter jets over the Black Sea

On May 11, according to the information support department of the Russian Black Sea Fleet-Southern Military District, a Russian Su-30 fighter jet intercepted two Dassault Mirage 2000 fighters and a refueling aircraft of the French Air Force over the Black Sea near the Russian border.

On May 11, radars detected air targets approaching the Russian border over neutral waters of theBlack Sea.

According to the Southern Military District, "to identify and prevent border violations, a Su-30 fighter was dispatched. The crew of the Russian fighter identified the air targets as two Mirage 2000 tactical aircraft and a C-135 tanker of theFrench Air Forceand escort them across the Black Sea.”

At the same time, the Su-30 does not allow foreign aircraft to violate national borders.

The Southern Military District added that the flight of Russian fighter jets was carried out in accordance with international regulations.
