How to use automatic car throttle to save gas?

1. Use only on highways and flat roads.

The nature of the automatic throttle is that when activated, the driver releases the accelerator pedal but the vehicle will maintain speed by automatically adjusting the amount of gasoline pumped into the combustion chamber. If the driver actively steps on the accelerator, it may be strong at times and weak at times, leading to uneven gasoline pumped in, causing fuel waste... When using automatic throttle, this waste will be significantly reduced.

But it is only true when the car is running on a straight road, flat terrain, without steep slopes. When the car is running on a steep slope, when going up the slope, the speed will decrease, to maintain the same speed as before, the car will pump more gas very quickly. As a result, when using automatic throttle on a steep slope, the car will burn more gas than usual.

2. Activate when speed is stable

Drivers who want to drive at 60 km/h, there are many ways to achieve this number. For example, step on the gas pedal hard to increase speed from a standstill or low speed. The second way is to slowly step on the gas pedal at a moderate level, the car will gradually increase speed steadily, although it takes more time to reach 60 km/h.

To use cruise control to save fuel, drivers should choose the second option. Gently press the accelerator, hold it until it reaches 60, then press the button to activate.

3. Choose the right speed

Using the cruise control effectively depends on the speed. Going too slow or too fast is ineffective. Going slow will make the travel time longer, the vehicle will be under a heavy load, while going fast the engine needs more fuel.

The appropriate speed is usually around 60 - 80 km/h depending on the type of road. To achieve this speed, according to technical experts, it is necessary to pay attention to the engine speed, so at the threshold of 1,500 rpm or less for ordinary cars is when the best efficiency is achieved.

How to activate auto throttle

- The driver must turn on the cruise control mode by pressing the Cruise control On/Off icon (X) button on the steering wheel.

- Immediately after activation, the driver controls the vehicle to operate at the desired speed (Operating speed must be above 40 km/h). Then press the SET+ or SET- button to save and maintain the current speed... To change the speed, the driver presses the SET+ or SET- button to increase or decrease the selected speed.

- To cancel the steering function, you can press the brake pedal or press the Off (X) button on the steering wheel, the indicator light will turn off.
