Consuming the right amount of coffee may help protect the liver.
A newly published study suggests that consuming a moderate amount of coffee daily may help protect liver health.
According to research by experts at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine (USA), published on "ctvnews.ca" on August 19th, providing the body with an appropriate amount of coffee daily not only reduces the risk of fatty liver disease but can also improve liver health.

Based on cell cultures from mice, Dr. Paul Yen, the lead researcher, and his colleagues discovered that coffee stimulated the metabolism of stored fat in liver cells and significantly reduced the amount of fat in the livers of mice fed a high-fat diet.
Further research has shown that providing the body with an amount equivalent to four cups of coffee or tea per day may effectively help prevent and protect against the progression of fatty liver disease in humans.
Dr. Paul Yen stated that this is the first detailed study on the mechanism of coffee's action on liver fat, and the results are very interesting, "clearing the name" of coffee and tea regarding human health.
According to experts, approximately 70% of people worldwide with diabetes and obesity are diagnosed with fatty liver disease, and the primary cause of fatty liver disease is not necessarily excessive alcohol consumption.
To date, there is no effective treatment for this disease other than diet and exercise. The results of this study may be helpful to the large number of people suffering from this condition.
