October 4, 2016 11:31

(Baonghean.vn) - Cloud ice cream, smoke snacks, charcoal ice cream, 7-level spicy noodles, and even laughing gas... are hot trends among young people. What are the effects behind these seemingly harmless trends on young people?

1. Cloud ice cream, trendy smoky snack

If mixed tea cups or normal ice cream have become too familiar, now young people are spreading the word about a very unique type of cool food with very beautiful names such as smoke popcorn or cloud ice cream. The two snacks that are making young people excited have liquid nitrogen as an ingredient but are potentially dangerous if not used properly.

Cloud ice cream and smoky snacks are the names of two dishes that use liquid nitrogen in the cooking process, making the dish smoke and very eye-catching.

Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream is also a very popular trend in Western countries. However, many people wonder how people can create such a fun and delicious ice cream?

“To enjoy it in style, you have to eat it quickly while it’s still steaming. Eating ice cream while blowing smoke into your nose and mouth like smoking makes young people very excited.” The price of these dishes is relatively affordable, only around 25,000 VND – 30,000 VND/cup.

Is eating liquid nitrogen harmful to the body? If the cloud ice cream and smoke snacks are cold at about -10 degrees Celsius, it can be harmful to the body. In many cases, the cold at about -20 degrees Celsius can cause instant lip burns. Remember, nitrogen gas burns are often very deep.

In many cases, temperatures around -20 degrees Celsius can cause instant lip burns.

According to chemists, the temperature of liquid nitrogen is about minus 196 degrees Celsius and can cause frostbite if exposed directly. More dangerously, when inhaling high concentrations of nitrogen gas into the blood, the brain will send a signal to haemoglobin (this is a complex protein containing iron that can receive, store and release oxygen in the body) to stop carrying oxygen, causing the heart to stop beating. Liquid nitrogen may be widely used in nutritional processing, but it is not safe.

2. 7-level spicy noodles:

The challenge of eating spicy noodles with 7 different levels, the spiciness will gradually increase to the peak of level 7. This dish costs from 35,000 VND to 45,000 VND/bowl. Some restaurants even give a reward to anyone who can finish a bowl of noodles at level 7. Many people share pictures of eating high-level spicy noodles on social networking sites. However, eating too spicy food is never considered good for health.

7-level spicy noodles are causing a fever among young people

Simply put, noodles are not good for people with a history of hemorrhoids, because spicy food is a stimulant that needs to be limited if you don't want your condition to get worse. And there is even a risk of sudden death due to eating too spicy food combined with extremely hot weather.

And in fact, many young people have had to go to the emergency room after enjoying high-level noodles. Most recently, a girl in Nghe An had to go to the emergency room after trying level 7 spicy noodles.

If the food is too spicy, drink milk to reduce the spiciness, but water will only reduce the spiciness to some extent.

3. Black cream (cream from coconut ash)

A new ice cream has been launched in black, this ice cream is currently popular with the taste of coconut milk and is mixed with... coconut shell ash. This ice cream has a jet black color due to the color of the ash layer which is not very eye-catching, however, this layer of ash is advertised to have the effect of purifying the body and supporting the health of diners.

The ice cream is made from coconut shell ash mixed with coconut meat, coconut milk and coconut cream.

Because of the strangeness of this ice cream, ice cream addicts quickly put aside the bright, colorful ice cream bars and "fall in love" with this "coconut ash" ice cream.

However, this ice cream has a big drawback that is not good for consumers' health, which is the rather "expensive" price, 160,000 VND for an ice cream bar. Not only that, before netizens had a chance to take a "real" photo with the ice cream bar, it had already... melted all over.

Not only that, those who have enjoyed this ice cream also warn others that after eating it, your mouth will look like... "a black hole in the universe" because there is a possibility that your teeth will be stained. But it can be said that regardless of whether it is good or bad, this is still a quite interesting phenomenon and young people really want to experience it.

4. Laughing gas

Recently, a segment of the city’s youth has been “crazy” about a new hobby called “laughing gas”. However, most of them do not know that they are poisoning themselves.

m
The price of a laughing gas is not high, only from 50,000 VND - 60,000 VND/gas.

“Laughing gas” entered Vietnam and was quickly accepted by young people in several major cities, including Hai Phong, as a new form of entertainment.

According to current research, “laughing gas” is often sold and widely used in some bars and karaoke bars. The amount of money spent to buy 1 “laughing gas” is not high, only from 50,000 VND - 60,000 VND/ball. Because of the affordable price, many young people, even those who are not “party people”, can buy and use it for a long time.

When you inhale the gas in this balloon, you will feel lightheaded, excited, and laugh out loud for hours. Seeing this new, “interesting” item, and not a banned item, many people import it to use while having fun with friends and to sell.

When inhaled, laughing gas will make the "player" feel excited, lightheaded, dizzy, and laugh for no reason.

There are currently quite a few people openly selling “laughing gas” on social networking forums, online shopping websites... Some people even display photos and videos with specific instructions on how to use “laughing gas” on online shopping sites. Accordingly, players just need to put their mouth on the top of the ball, inhale the air inside, then blow it back out to make the ball bigger.

Repeating this about 4-5 times will make anyone, whether happy or sad, laugh out loud without knowing why. It is known that "laughing gas" is structured like a balloon, containing a gas that causes laughter, which is actually Nitro Oxygen (N2O). When inhaled, laughing gas will make the "player" feel excited, lightheaded, dizzy, and laugh for no reason.

According to Dr. Dao Minh Chau, Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, N2O is a pain-relieving gas, has a slightly sweet taste, and is colorless. This substance can cause numbness and general anesthesia without losing consciousness. The reason N2O is called laughing gas is because this gas affects a point of the nervous system that causes laughter. There is no research proving that N2O gas will cause mental disorders. However, if used in large amounts, it will be toxic and addictive. When inhaled in small amounts, N2O can cause excitement, mild agitation, making the user laugh "for no reason". This effect only lasts for a very short time, forcing the user to continue inhaling more to increase the "high".

Over time, players accumulate more and more N2O gas, which will be toxic to the body. It will stimulate, the nerves will no longer feel, not function normally, and even cause deep coma. In the long term, it will lead to neurological disorders, including memory loss.

5. Trend: "Vietnam - Say and do"

Not long ago, Facebook users were surprised by the statement of an account named NT on his personal Facebook: "If this photo gets 40,000 likes, he will pour gasoline on himself, use a lighter to burn himself and then jump off Tan Hoa bridge! If he gets enough likes, he will do it, I say so. Share it a lot to see something interesting."

The post attracted nearly 100,000 likes and thousands of comments encouraging and challenging the man to perform the dangerous act. Immediately after, social networks appeared a clip of the young man dousing himself in gasoline, setting himself on fire and jumping into the river.

The incident did not stop there when this challenge started a trend called "Say it and do it". Many young people continuously posted statements with the hashtag #noilalam, and "priced" the number of likes needed to post photos or videos with shocking, offensive content.

A series of trendy captions appeared online: "If I get 1,000 likes, I will wear girls' clothes and walk around District 8", "If I get 60 likes and 15,000 shares, I will wear underwear and jump off a bridge and drink a whole bucket of river water", "If I only need 10 likes, I will throw myself and my car into the sewer".

Many girls even casually attract likes with hot photos or clips like "20,000 likes, 500 shares, 1,000 comments to watch undressing videos", "Only 5,000 likes will take a photo of the whole bust to give to you guys".

Psychology PhD Nguyen Thi Minh - Lecturer of Administration, National Academy of Public Administration - expressed her disapproval of the confusing trends of young people. In fact, following trends leads to many consequences. Sometimes, you fall into a situation where you have to find new and strange actions to perform at all costs.
