The truth behind the relationship between Juan Mata and Mourinho
Once again, Juan Mata personally confirmed that there has never been any problem in the relationship between him and coach Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Two years ago, the press reported a lot about the 'unpleasant relationship' between Jose Mourinho and Juan Mata when they were working together at Chelsea. That was also said to be one of the reasons why Mourinho agreed to sell Mata to Manchester United for £37.1 million at that time. Then, when the Special One took over at Old Trafford last summer, many people thought of a not-so-bright future for Mata at the Theatre.
However, the Spanish international has been an important factor in Mourinho's tactical scheme since the beginning of the season. Both have also denied all rumors that their relationship is not good. Juan Mata recently reaffirmed this:
“I’m fine and I’ve said before that all the rumours in the summer were completely untrue. My relationship with the manager is very good and everything that has happened has proven that the rumours are not true. Mourinho just wants me to be myself. He wants me to bridge the gap between midfield and defence. He has no special requirements.”
