'Nghe An's prosperity will be closely linked to Japan'

Affirming that Nghe An is a province with a special position in its relations with Japan, Dr. Nguyen Sy Dung said that Nghe An is the hometown of the patriot Phan Boi, who promoted the Dong Du movement. If the Dong Du movement was founded by Phan Boi Chau in the last century, in today's era, the leaders of Nghe An province are promoting that movement into the Dong Du 2.0 movement.

"I believe that in the future, Nghe An's prosperity will be closely linked with Japan. That is necessary to help Nghe An develop sustainably" - Dr. Nguyen Sy Dung emphasized.

According to Dr. Nguyen Sy Dung, promoting cooperation with Japan is formed and promoted in many aspects.

Monday, cooperation with Japan is not only for technology, financial support, but also based on the good and valuable qualities of the Japanese, especially the working method. For the Japanese, in business, they always think about the benefits of their partners. "If I benefit, my partners also benefit" becomes a business philosophy to always ensure the success of both sides.

This is the kindness of Japanese enterprises. They are always honest and careful. Through the survey, all Japanese enterprises in Vietnam when licensed to operate are responsible for protecting the environment, there is no littering.

With those foundations, Dr. Nguyen Sy Dung highly appreciated the right direction of Nghe An in expanding cooperation relations with Japan. In addition, opening up opportunities to promote cooperation between localities of Nghe An and Japan, as suggested by Tetsuo Konaka - Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam Office, will be a very effective direction.

Dr. Nguyen Sy Dung said that Japanese localities have a very high level of autonomy, and this is considered the foundation for establishing long-term, stable cooperation.

Up to now, Japan has funded Nghe An with 44 ODA aid programs and projects, with a total capital of more than 5,000 billion VND (equivalent to 217.5 million USD).

Regarding FDI investment, the province currently has 8 Japanese investment projects with a total capital of 92 million USD. Nghe An is one of the localities with a large number of citizens working in Japan with about 3,000 - 4,000 workers/year. There are currently 10,898 Nghe An workers in Japan, accounting for 3.43% of the total number of Vietnamese workers working in Japan.
