(Baonghean.vn) - As in previous years, the World Press Photo contest was held again on February 18th, awarding prizes to 41 photojournalists from 21 countries across 7 categories. Notably, in this year's awards ceremony, 7 photojournalists won top prizes for their work on the situation in Syria – a subject rarely seen in a prestigious competition like World Press Photo. | Out of nearly 83,000 photos submitted by 5,775 photojournalists from 128 countries, the photograph depicting a man trying to get his child across a barbed wire fence on the Hungarian-Syrian border, taken on August 28, 2015, became the "Photo of the Year." According to photographer Werren Richardson, he camped with a group of about 200 refugees for five days.
