Therefore, at that time, although “domestic milk” was one-third cheaper, it still could not surpass the famous foreign milk brands that were “rampant” in the market. In the years 2012 - 2013, when scandals about milk contaminated with “melamine”, milk with unsafe ingredients, hand-carried milk of unknown origin, etc. were exposed, the appeal of foreign milk somewhat decreased.

However, since 2015, thanks to appropriate business policies, domestic dairy companies have developed strategies, focusing on improving and diversifying powdered milk products, not only powdered milk from cow's milk, but also powdered milk from goat's milk. Realizing that quality is a prerequisite for the strength of products, Vietnamese dairy companies have focused on promoting the quality and diversifying powdered milk products to meet the diverse needs of consumers.

Typical examples include Vinamilk with its product lines of powdered milk for stunted, anorexic children, formula milk for children under 6 months, Dutch Lady powdered milk, Nutifood height growth milk, which are highly appreciated by consumers and have received many positive responses... In addition, the factor of stable prices with little fluctuation has created the attraction of "domestic" milk, Nutifood grow milk costs about 380,000 VND/box (800g), Vinamilk's pediasure milk ranges from 280,000 - 300,000 VND/box... Meanwhile, Russian Nan milk costs 415,000 VND/box of 800g, Japanese Meiji milk costs 385,000 - 390,000 VND/box.

At agents in Vinh city, on most of the shelves of department stores, domestic milk has occupied an "overwhelming" quantity... According to some large milk agents in Vinh city, domestic milk powder is increasingly chosen by consumers, the sales volume is equivalent to 70 - 80%, foreign milk is currently only 20 - 30%. Many women said that in recent years, thanks to careful research, they realized that "foreign" milk powder is not necessarily better than "domestic" milk, buyers should learn about the ingredients on the milk box to know which type is suitable for their children.

Thus, it can be seen that in addition to the basic factors that convince consumers such as price and widespread distribution system..., in the period from its appearance until now, the lack of "rumors" about the quality and food safety of powdered milk products provided by domestic manufacturers has become the factors that "create strength" for powdered milk products of Vinamilk, Nutifood, Dutch Lady...

This further shows that the strength of "domestic" powdered milk in the market is not inferior to "foreign" milk, and can even beat "foreign" milk if we know how to care and invest in the right direction, then there is no reason for consumers to turn their backs on "domestic" milk.
