Many young people are fascinated by sunflower fields. |
My friend Ninh from Hanoi was on a business trip to Cua Lo Town. When I told him about the sunflower fields of the TH True Milk dairy farm in Nghia Dan, he was very excited. We decided to leave right after lunch.
From Cua Lo, after more than 2 hours of travel, at nearly 1 pm we officially arrived at Nghia Lam commune in the strangely hot and humid winter sun. Along the Ho Chi Minh road, the sunflower field appeared as far as the eye could see, blooming with vibrant colors that made people's hearts flutter.
Seeing the excitement of visitors from afar, Ms. Truong Thi Hoa, a Tho ethnic person who was preparing to sell soft drinks right next to the road, said: "The flowers have been blooming sporadically for the past 4 days. Although they have not yet fully bloomed, in recent days, the number of people coming to admire, film, and take pictures has been very large, especially from 4 pm onwards."
Next to it, the bulldozer of TH True Milk Company is working at full capacity to level the ground and prepare a free parking lot for visitors. Many security guards are assigned to watch the flower garden day and night. Preparations are taking place urgently to serve visitors in the most convenient way.
In recent years, many raw material fields of TH True Milk dairy farm in Nghia Dan have been covered with bright yellow sunflowers. The company representative said that the purpose is to feed cows, but clearly the irresistible beauty of sunflowers has created a fever for those who love to explore, especially young people.

Sunflower fields are starting to bloom. |
Few people expected that in the middle of Nghe An with its “specialty” of hot Lao wind, there would be such captivating sunflower hills. With the characteristic of always facing the sun, sunflowers are considered a symbol of faith and hope. The bright yellow flowers proudly stretch out in the dry weather, making the scene here strangely lively.
By chance, we met a young couple Nguyen Hoang Minh and Le Ngoc Hien from Quy Hop district in the middle of a vast flower hill. “We heard that the flowers were blooming so we went down to visit in advance to prepare for our wedding photos. Last year, my friend took her wedding photos in a beautiful sunflower field so we couldn’t miss it,” Hoang Minh said as he looked at his future bride with indescribable happiness.
My friend was still surprised when he said: "I have heard a lot about famous sunflower gardens in the world but I never expected that Nghe An would have such a beautiful flower field. It's really great!"

Every time sunflowers bloom, they cause a "fever" among young people. |
Anyone passing by this road, no matter how hurried, still tries to linger, admire the proud and attractive flower and do not forget to take a few souvenir photos. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thien, Deputy General Director of the International High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company under TH Group said: “We grow sunflowers for the purpose of crop rotation to prevent pests and provide food for the cow farm, but we did not expect this flower to attract tourists so much. In 2014, when the flower garden in Nghia Son commune was in full bloom, it attracted millions of people from all over the country to come here to admire it, even from abroad, many tourists called the company to contact us to find out more.”
On social networking sites, young people from all over the country are preparing for their trips to the Western region of Nghe An with excitement and anticipation. Surely this winter, many young people will have unforgettable experiences when they come to admire the yellow color of sunflowers and enjoy the specialty of Vinh oranges right in the famous land of Phu Quy. Before saying goodbye to me, my friend said: "I will arrange to bring my family here this weekend to visit, I cannot miss this opportunity".
The Sunflower Field was planted on a trial basis on 2 hectares in 2010. Realizing that the flower grows well on fertile basalt soil, TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company continued to expand to 30 hectares in 2014 and 60 hectares this year. Every year, sunflowers in Nghia Dan usually bloom at two times: March to April and November to December. The flowers bloom for about 2-3 weeks and are harvested to serve the company's production. |
