(Baonghean)Overwhelmed with joy, emotion, reflection, honor, and pride… these are the general feelings of the authors and groups of authors whose works won awards in the first phase of the campaign to create and promote literary, artistic, and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" after the implementation of Directive 03/BCT.

After more than two years since its launch, the campaign to create and promote literary, artistic, and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" has created a widespread impact, attracting enthusiastic and dedicated participation with a high sense of responsibility from numerous collaborators, professional journalists, and members of the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, with hundreds of works in various genres. In the field of journalism, from May 2011 to April 20, 2013, the Organizing Committee received more than 50 works from media agencies in the province and collaborators participating in the competition.

Of these, 48 works met the eligibility criteria for the competition, including 31 print articles, 4 online articles, 7 television programs, and 6 radio programs. According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association: Compared to previous years, this year's competition had a larger number of entries and higher quality. The participating authors were diverse, ranging from journalists, writers, and poets to veteran revolutionary cadres, current and retired Party members. This demonstrates the widespread impact and deep influence of the writing competition on social life. Generally, the works focused on praising and vividly highlighting the thoughts, ethics, and example of Ho Chi Minh; reflecting vividly and truthfully the continued implementation of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example by agencies, units, and localities in the province, as well as exemplary individuals with creative and effective methods of "following" his example in various fields.

After a period of serious, objective, and responsible work, the judging panel for journalistic works selected 14 works in 4 journalistic categories to be recommended for awards by the provincial organizing committee, including: Print journalism (1 A prize, 1 B prize, 2 Consolation prizes); Online journalism (1 B prize, 2 Consolation prizes); Television journalism (1 A prize, 1 B prize, 2 Consolation prizes); Radio journalism (1 B prize, 2 Consolation prizes).

The characters in the articles are all shining examples in labor and production, social charity activities, building and protecting the sovereignty of the homeland's seas and islands... Many works have left a mark on readers, with high influence and persuasiveness in society, such as: the work "The Story of a Police Colonel Being Close to the People and Understanding the Soldiers" (author Viet Long, Nghe An Newspaper); "Mr. Hoa's Criticism" (author Viet Thang, Lao Dong Newspaper); "Going to Son Thanh to Build New Rural Areas" (author Nhat Lan, Nghe An Newspaper); the television works "A Heart Dedicated to Beloved Uncle Ho" (authors Quynh Trang - Canh Toan, Nghe An Radio and Television Station), "Mr. Vinh - A Man of Work" (authors Mai Sao - Le Dong, Dien Chau Radio and Television Station); the radio work "The Story of a Mong Person Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" (author Hien Chuong, Nghe An Radio and Television Station)...

This writing competition also received enthusiastic participation from many writers, poets, and literary and artistic activists in various genres: poetry collections, novels, art photography, short stories, stage scripts, music, and fine arts. Many works focused on portraying and highlighting the image of President Ho Chi Minh, as well as depicting ordinary people who, through studying and internalizing the thoughts and ethics of President Ho Chi Minh, became exemplary figures and new factors in life, work, study, and creativity today. Among nearly 90 entries, the organizing committee awarded 3 A prizes; 6 B prizes; and 10 Encouragement prizes, including works with widespread public appeal such as the poetry collections: “Returning to Truong Bon”, “Before the Historical House”, “The Legendary Bridge” by Van Anh; the novel “Song of the Rivers” by The Quang; and the art photography “Returning to Mother Lang Sen” by Bui Xuan Luong…

Listening to the stories and shared experiences of the award-winning authors, we deeply felt that to create articles, reports, and literary and artistic works that truthfully and vividly reflect the image of President Ho Chi Minh and the exemplary figures who study and follow his moral example, reporters, collaborators, writers, journalists, and photographers had to immerse themselves in reality, stay close to the local areas and grassroots, and accompany the subjects. With a lively and simple style of presentation, and by selecting compelling details, the portrait of Colonel Nguyen Huu Cau, as depicted in the award-winning print journalism work by author Viet Long (Nghe An Newspaper), is that of a man who dares to think, dares to act, dares to take responsibility, is truly close to the people, and understands his soldiers.

To capture such compelling details, author Viet Long not only listened to accounts but was actually present at the scene, interacting with and witnessing the words and actions of the main character. He selected specific stories from the reality of a police colonel who was close to the people and understood the soldiers, and he succeeded. The main character in the work "A Hmong Man Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" by author Hien Chuong (Provincial Radio and Television Station) is Ho Chong Nhia, the Chairman of Nam Can Commune (Ky Son District), whom she coincidentally met during a work trip to the mountainous region. The work was highly praised by the organizing committee and awarded a B prize for its widespread impact, authenticity, and persuasive portrayal of the exemplary figure. In the field of literature and arts, the novel "The Song of the Rivers" by author Nguyen The Quang was widely received and highly appreciated by the public. This work also won a C prize from the Central-level organizing committee…

“Attending this awards ceremony, for each author, especially for us reporters from Party newspapers, is not only about sharing joy but also an opportunity to learn from experience and how to disseminate and promote exemplary models of learning and following Uncle Ho's example in all areas of social life, contributing practically to bringing the Politburo's Directive 03-CT/TƯ on continuing to promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's moral example into life,” shared young reporter Thanh Phuc (Nghe An Newspaper), who won two Encouragement Awards…
