Little Nguyen Van An (5 years old, living in Buon Trap town, Krong Ana district) was using the toilet in Krong Ana kindergarten at noon on February 6 when the toilet suddenly collapsed. The boy fell into the hole and was crushed by rocks and bricks.

The collapsed area was nearly 10 square meters wide and about 5 meters deep. "When I received the news, I ran to see the teachers standing around, and below me, my son was crying. I tied a rope and climbed down into the deep tunnel to bring him up," Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan (An's father) recalled.

Dr. Huynh Nhu Dong, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery, Dak Lak General Hospital, said the boy was admitted to the hospital with a fractured skull and a broken pelvis. "After surgery, by noon today, the child's health had passed the critical stage and was gradually recovering," said Dr. Dong.

Ms. Le Thi Huong, Principal of Krong Ana Kindergarten, said that the school took over the toilet from the primary school. "On the morning of February 7, the Department of Education, the Town People's Committee and related units came down to examine and record the scene to clarify the situation," Ms. Huong said.
