Collection of prison artifacts of revolutionary soldiers in Nghe Tinh
Collecting artifacts helps us understand the noble and proud values of the lives of the steadfast and indomitable children of Nghe An in imperial prisons.
With the white terror policy of the French imperialists and the Southern feudal dynasties in 1930-1931, the majority of cadres and party members in Nghe An and Ha Tinh were arrested. They transferred hundreds of political prisoners from Vinh Prison - Ha Tinh to prisons in "sacred forests and poisonous waters" such as: Lao Bao, Kon Tum, Buon Ma Thuot, Con Dao... Here, prisoners had to endure all kinds of brutal torture, in addition to the suffering of hunger, cold, disease, forced labor... There was no other way, they had to rise up and fight.

From 1930 to 1945, in prisons in the Central and Central Highlands, people from Nghe An and Ha Tinh made up the majority, many comrades were the core of the struggle against the harsh prison regime. Political prisoners fought to remove shackles, improve their diet and living conditions, protested against beatings and forced overwork... After each struggle, there was brutal terror from the prison guards. Despite the bloodshed and beatings, the Soviet soldiers still fought to their last breath. A typical example was the "bloody" struggle in Kon Tum led by comrade Nguyen Huy Lung (a cadre of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee), the prison guards brutally suppressed the struggle, causing the deaths of 8 revolutionary soldiers.

Prison clothes, medicine bottles, wooden boxes, hats... are associated with the names of many loyal communist soldiers such as: Ho Tung Mau, Truong Van Linh, Phan Dang Luu, Nguyen Sy Sach, Nguyen Duy Trinh, Chu Hue, Mai Kinh... and many more Soviet martyrs forever shining with revolutionary steel in enemy prisons.
Studying is also a form of activity for political prisoners. Cultural and political classes in prison attract many participants. When they first entered prison, many people were illiterate or had little education, but now, thanks to the help of their comrades, their cultural level has been raised. Some comrades have also learned French and Chinese. In the collection, there are documents on political study at Buon Ma Thuot prison by comrade Le Khanh Du, notebooks by comrade Le Sy Mien...
Not only were they imprisoned and brutally beaten, political prisoners in Lao Bao, Buon Ma Thuot, Kon Tum... also had to do hard labor for months in the mountains and forests, such as building Highway 14 from Kon Tum to Buon Ma Thuot. The enemy's purpose in forcing prisoners to do hard labor was to exhaust their strength, weaken their will, and make them abandon their revolutionary ideals.

The artifacts: rattan baskets, rattan plates, rattan boxes, rattan trays... are evidence of the extraordinary determination of Soviet soldiers who overcame all sacrifices and hardships with the belief in victory.
The collection has 15 artifacts, diverse in materials such as fabric, wood, porcelain, rattan, bamboo, paper...; rich in genres and shapes: shirts, books, boxes, trays, bottles... Although small in quantity, the collection fully reflects the life and struggle of hundreds of Soviet soldiers from Nghe Tinh in the imperial prison.
