Does the West's stereotyping of Russia only harm Ukraine?
(Baonghean.vn) - Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson believes that the West's stereotypical thinking towards Russia only harms Ukraine, while Moscow is creating a new form of war that NATO has never encountered.

According to RT on April 16, former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said that while Russia continues to find new ways to fight in Ukraine and develop new technology, the West still believes that a counterattack, lacking air power, is a good idea. The West's stereotypical thinking towards Russia only harms Ukraine, while Moscow is "creating a new form of war that NATO has never encountered".
According to former CIA analyst Larry Johnson, in the event of any confrontation between Russia and NATO, most NATO countries do not have the military experience that Russia has. And even the US in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan had a completely different military operation than what is happening in Ukraine.
"They believe that Russia is a backward country, that its soldiers are recruited from prisons, that no one wants to serve in the Russian army, and so on. And what's really scary is that they really believe that. Meanwhile, Russia is creating a new form of warfare that NATO has never experienced before. And most of the fighting that's going on now is being done by Ukraine, as a NATO proxy. The West seems to see Ukraine as a member of NATO, even though no one has officially given Kiev that status," said former CIA analyst Larry Johnson.
According to Mr. Johnson, Russia is making significant progress, demonstrating flexibility over time.Take the use of glide bombs, for example. "The Russian military sat with these huge 1,500-kilogram, 3,000-kilogram bombs and thought, 'What should we do with them?' And someone said, 'Let's put wings on them, let's put this and that.' And now they can glide and hit their targets with great accuracy," Mr. Johnson analyzed.
The former CIA analyst added that the Ukrainian military is currently in a vulnerable position, and Russian missiles can literally flatten their positions. In particular, the use of drones has proven effective against Russia. In addition, Russia can develop tank screens to prevent attacks by Ukrainian drones. Russia has superior electronic warfare capabilities than Ukraine.
As a result, Russia has become increasingly adept at using its vast force according to its plans, while the situation is quite the opposite for the West, according to Larry Johnson.
"The West has come up with a counter-offensive plan for Ukraine in 2023, hoping to attack three fortified defense lines without aircraft or air cover. Great idea! And what happened to it?" - commented the former CIA analyst.
