"More than 12,000 civilians have returned to their homes in eastern Aleppo. Everyone has received the necessary assistance," General Konashenkov said.
In addition, he noted that with the support of the Russian Center for Reconciliation, over the past few days more than 50 tons of food, medicine and other necessities have been delivered to the settlements in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus, Latakia and Hama. Mr. Konashenkov also stressed that more than 60,000 Syrians have received humanitarian assistance.
The northern Syrian city of Aleppo was completely liberated from armed opposition groups last December and is now under the control of Syrian government forces.
