Syria and Ukraine have no major benefits because of Russian activities
Russian activity in Ukraine or in Syria is not beneficial, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in an interview with NBC.
"Russia doesn't benefit in Ukraine or Syria?" a reporter asked Mr. Mike Pompeo. The head of the US Department of State replied: "Very fair".
“This is a very fair statement. And this is very sad, because there are areas where we have common interests, and I have worked closely with them (with Russia) on issues of counter-terrorism. There are different places in the world where we have common interests, but, of course, these are not values. In Russia they are very different from our country. They do not benefit by acting in Ukraine or in Syria.
The Foreign Minister also recalled that the United States imposed sanctions on China for buying weapons from Russia. According to the diplomat, this was done to "push back against Russia."
"This week, we imposed sanctions against China under the provisions of the law 'countering America's adversaries through sanctions.' It was adopted to counter Russia's malign actions," Mike Pompeo concluded.
