Vietnam's T-90S main battle tank, while awaiting delivery, was "temporarily borrowed" by the UralVagonZavod Factory to use for the unique race.

Recently, the famous Russian tank manufacturing facility UralVagonZavod (UVZ) held a special event to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of legendary designer Mikhail Koshkin, the father of the T-34 tank.

The central object of the event was the T-34-85 tank produced in 1945 at the 183rd UVZ Plant, which was retained at the production facility and never used in combat. On the tank's turret was painted the inscription "For Koshkin".

Its opponents in the unique race above are a 2016 T-72B3 main battle tank - the backbone tank of the Russian Army in the early 21st century, and a T-90S that UVZ assembled according to Vietnam's order and is awaiting delivery.

The tanks had to cover a distance of 350 m in cold weather and snow-covered ground. At the start, the T-34-85, although at the back, started its engine first and took the lead.

However, thanks to the new generation V-92S2F turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of up to 1,130 horsepower (compared to the V-2-34 with a maximum capacity of only 500 horsepower of the T-34-85), the two "younger" tanks quickly regained their position.

But after having gained a significant distance, at the end of the race, the T-72B3 and T-90S proactively reduced speed to let the T-34-85 tank finish first as a tribute to the legend.

In addition, through the special race above, we can see more clearly the shape and configuration of the weapons and equipment of the T-90S tank that Vietnam is about to receive, because the previous footage of it maneuvering on the training ground was not really clear.

It is easy to see that Vietnam's T-90S tank has green camouflage paint with color blocks that are beautifully and reasonably coordinated, suitable for the terrain as well as our field uniforms.

The final doubts about whether Vietnam's T-90 is equipped with "red eyes" - OTShU-1-7 interference lights belonging to the "soft" defense system Shtora-1 or a 12.7 mm machine gun capable of controlling fire from inside the vehicle have also been answered, when all features are complete.
