According to a VNA reporter in Seoul, a document from the French Police Intelligence Department found by a Korean researcher Lee Jang-kyu, who is pursuing a doctorate at the University of Paris, at the French Overseas Document Library (ANOM), clearly stated that "in the 1920s, while President Ho Chi Minh was working in France for the independence movement in Vietnam, he had exchanges with members of the Provisional Government of Korea."
This document reads: “The French Police Intelligence Service believes that in order to respond to President Ho Chi Minh’s action plan, it is necessary to clearly understand the documents published by the Koreans. President Ho Chi Minh is operating in the same way that Korean independence activists were doing to fight against the Japanese empire at that time.”
Reporter Kim Yong-rae said this is a valuable document that a Korean historical researcher has found for the first time. The document was written in detail about President Ho Chi Minh's activities in France by a police officer of the French Intelligence Service.
According to this document, President Ho Chi Minh met with key figures in the Korean Provisional Government in Paris, namely Kim Kyu-sik, Hwang Gi-hwan, Cho So-ang, and Yoon-hae. It is noteworthy that President Ho Chi Minh took many actions similar to the way he sought independence for Korea.
The author of this document clearly stated: “Ho Chi Minh was establishing his method of operation based on everything that the Koreans did. He was closely following the Korean resistance plan. To prepare for his plan, Ho Chi Minh reviewed all the publications that the Koreans had published in America...”
This valuable document has added many arguments to the historical research on the national liberation movement in Vietnam. In fact, many Korean researchers have found correlations between the policies and methods of national liberation activities of Vietnam and Korea against the invading imperialists at that time. The above document is an important basis for this argument./.
