Driver 2 years free to take elderly couple to medical treatment
A Chinese taxi driver took an elderly couple to the hospital for dialysis twice a week for two years without charging a penny.
Every day, Gu Chenming wakes up at 3:30 a.m. to drive a taxi in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. But every Tuesday and Friday, he takes advantage of the 6:30 a.m. rush to pick up a couple in their late 70s, Mr.Du Huaijie and Mrs.Guo Li, to the hospital for treatment. Then, he will return to take them home at 11 o'clock.
According toShenyang Evening News,nThe medical staff sometimes thought he was a relative of the grandparents.

Gu first met the couple during the 2016 Lunar New Year when they waited in the cold snow for an hour and a half for a taxi to take them to the hospital. Feeling sorry for them, Gu drove them for free and has since volunteered to drive them twice a week.
“I understand the suffering of the sick very well,” said Mr. Gu, who has diabetes and has to inject himself with insulin three times a week.
Mr. Du and his wife said they wanted to invite him to a meal, but he always refused. "I wanted to send a silk banner to his company to express my gratitude, but Gu didn't tell me the address. I can only say thank you here," said Mrs. Guo Li.
