On the morning of September 13, defendant Doan Quy Phien retraced the journey from when he picked up his car at the parking lot until he discovered Le Hoang Long dead in the driver's seat, when he parked the car at Gateway School.
At 7:25 a.m. on September 13, Mr. Phien drove a Ford Transit with license plate 29B-069.56 into the gate of Gateway School on Khuc Thua Du Street (Cau Giay District, Hanoi) under the supervision of many officers from the Cau Giay District prosecution agencies.
The suspect Phien wore a black T-shirt and had short, white hair. A policeman in uniform sat in the front seat, next to the driver.

The second reenactment session continued to be without defendant Nguyen Bich Quy (the person who picked up the child and took him to the bus). In response to questions from the victim's family lawyer about this, an officer from Cau Giay District Police said "if necessary, we will let Ms. Quy participate."
Cau Giay District Police, prosecutors, the victim's family's lawyer, and driver Phien then continued to get in the Ford Transit and drove to the parking lot at 123 Nguyen Phong Sac Street, about 1 km away. This is where, according to the driver's testimony, the car had been parked for 9 hours in the sun after taking students to Gateway School without knowing that Long (6 years old) was still inside.
At the parking lot at 8am, Mr. Phien re-enacted the process of parking, getting out of the car and using the magnetic key to lock the car door.

The investigation agency will decide who will participate. The experimental journey from the parking lot to Gateway School will help the investigation agency evaluate the statements of the people involved, strengthening the case file.
The reenactment ended at 8:05. The lawyer representing Long's family hopes that defendant Quy will be present for the reenactment this afternoon, because she will help "clarify necessary information, such as how many minutes the car stopped, at what point, and which child got out of the car."
